We were asked to supply some older air dried oak beams for a clients extension. The beams had to be characterful and some were needed to be hollowed to cover steels.
Oak beams have been used in building for many hundreds of years, but when being installed to a property that is already there or being used in an extension it is really best to go with a more stable air dried oak beams to try and reduce movement as much as possible.
These beams were going to a listed property so the last thing we wanted was any movement causing damage to what was already there.
We supply many oak beams ceiling sets and can cut to a full range of bespoke sizes, shapes, hollow outs and more. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or you have a project you would like us to give you any help with.
